Derek Milton Fitch born Sept. 1st, 1980 in Tulsa, OK. on a rainy Labor Day. Survived by Parents David M. Fitch and Michal A. (Crago) Fitch, Daughter Kaylie N. Locke-Fitch, sister Linsey A. (Fitch) McHenry, husband Jacob W. McHenry, nephews Freddie Coolbaugh, Robert Coolbaugh and niece Chloe McHenry. Grandparents Jack and Helen Fitch (deceased) and Harold and Joanie Crago (deceased) and many Aunts, uncles and cousins. He was baptized and had first communion at Christ the King in Tulsa OK and confirmed in the Catholic Religion in Bakersfield, CA. He graduated from Marquette Parochial School then attended 9th Grade at Bishop Kelly, graduating from Centennial High School in Bakersfield, CA in 1999. Received Associate Degree from Bakersfield College and attended OSU for one year.
As a child he was fascinated with balls, playing baseball, basketball and soccer during his youth. He later loved skateboarding, snowboarding and remote control cars. In 2005 he was in a severe car accident in Bakersfield, CA sustaining injuries that led to his constant battle with addiction. The family would like to recognize and thank the Tulsa County DUI Drug Court for their continued efforts to help Derek battle this addiction. He worked at Village Inn where he loved waiting on the return customers and had developed relationships with many of them.
On July 26, 2016 Derek passed away peacefully leaving behind loving family and many friends. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Habitat for Humanity c/o of St. Bernard's Catholic Church. 4001 E. 101st St. Tulsa, OK 74137 Attn: Deacon Campbell.
