Obituary

Dixie Lee Grahlman, 89, of Jenks, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2026, at BeeHive Homes of Glenpool.

Dixie was born on July 27, 1937, in Maud, Oklahoma, to Jack and Lowell Marsh. Dixie graduated from Harrison High School in Harrison, Arkansas. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Education in 1960 and later her Master of Science (M.S.) in Counseling from Oklahoma State University (OSU). After college, she served in the Peace Corps in Antigua and Barbados for three years where she contributed to education and community development efforts. After the Peace Corps, she moved to Rancho Cordova, California to begin her career as a physical education teacher. While teaching in California she met her future husband, Bill Grahlman. They moved to Tulsa and were married in McAlester, Oklahoma in 1971. Dixie worked in the Tulsa and Union Public School systems as a physical education teacher and counselor before her retirement.

Dixie was a devoted and supportive member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority at OSU and as an alumnus. Those who knew Dixie knew she loved sports, especially the OSU basketball and football teams. She rarely missed an opportunity to watch and cheer on her Cowboys! She also enjoyed antiquing, crafting, fishing, gardening, playing golf, and traveling with friends.

She is survived by her brother, Dr. John Henry Marsh of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her niece, Angie Marsh Butler and her husband Zane of Allen, Texas, and their daughter Hannah of The Colony, Texas; her nephew, Jack Marsh and his wife Beth of Rockwall, Texas, and their son Jacob of Tacoma, Washington; her stepson, Richard Grahlman of Monterey, California; her cousin, Sharon Lancaster and her husband Ron of Muskogee, Oklahoma, and many relatives, friends, former co-workers, students, and caregivers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Lowell Marsh; her husband, Bill Grahlman; her aunt and uncle, Jac and Bill Saunders; her cousins, Timmie Saunders and Billy Boy Saunders; and her sister-in-law, Marolyn Marsh.

The family would like to thank the caregivers and staff at the BeeHive Homes of Glenpool for all of their love, support, and care for Dixie.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel, 3612 E. 91st St., Tulsa, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, N. 3rd Street, Eufaula, Oklahoma.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association
