Dolores Irene Kryk Boden passed away on December 11, 2022, surrounded by her loving daughters. She was born on March 19th, 1936, in Rochester, New York, to Charles and Frances Kryk. She attended Saint Stanislaus School and Nazareth Academy. Dolores first met the love of her life, Ronald C. Boden, at a high school football game. They would ride the same school bus to their respective high schools, but Dolores always joked that he never called. Their paths crossed again in college, where they began dating. They married on May 10th, 1958, and moved to Washington, D.C., where Ron attended Georgetown University School of Medicine School, and where their first daughter, Patrice, was born. They returned to Rochester and Dolores worked at Eastman Kodak as an Executive Assistant while Ron completed residency and started his OB/GYN practice. Their daughters, Pam and Amy, were born in Rochester.
In 1967, they moved to Fort Sill, Oklahoma, after Ron was drafted during the Vietnam War, where they lived for two years. After a brief return to Rochester, and shoveling 117 inches of snow the following winter, the family moved to Tulsa, where Ron joined a medical practice with Springer Clinic.
Dolores and Ron were very active in their long-time parish, Church of the Resurrection. They traveled to many countries during their marriage, and especially enjoyed Europe and romantic Alaskan cruises. They regularly hosted family gatherings at their home in Tulsa, including parties and events at their backyard pool, and later moved to Claremore where they lived for several years until Ron's passing on December 18th, 2009. They were happily married for 51 years.
In addition to loving her family, Dolores had a large circle of great friends. She loved golfing, playing bridge, and participating in Investment Club, Garden Club, and medical society activities. She was a charter member of LaFortune Park and South Lake Women's Golf Associations. She was an active volunteer at Saint Francis Hospital, Tulsa County Medical Alliance, and various women's Catholic associations, and was a Girl Scout leader.
Dolores loved spending time with her great-grandchildren, Hunter Richards, Payton Hickman, Malachi Harris, Bradley Hickman, Taylor Hickman, Aubrey Darnell-Hickman, Charlotte Pittman, Wallace Pittman, Violet Pittman, and Melanie Harris.
She described her family, church, and friends as her highest priorities.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Frances Kryk, and her beloved husband, Dr. Ronald C. Boden. She is survived by her daughters, Patrice Greenawalt and husband, Scott, Pam Pittman-Adkins and husband, Terry, Amy Richards and husband, James, her seven grandchildren, Spencer Pittman and wife, Julie, Stephen Pittman and wife, Megan, Gary Hickman, Matthew Hickman, Abby Harris and husband Duane, Grace Greenawalt, Lucy Hadley and husband, Tyler, and her ten great-grandchildren, all whom she loved unconditionally.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Dolores's name be made to the Patient Access Network Foundation (
