It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald Eugene Andrews, who went to be with the Lord on September 26, 2024, at the age of 71. Donald was born on July 18, 1953, in Clinton, North Carolina, to Arnold Jasper Andrews and Myrtle Williams, both of whom preceded him in death.
Donald proudly served his country as a United States Navy Veteran, including during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he continued his commitment to public service as a Correctional Officer, where his dedication to his work and his sense of duty was evident to all who knew him.
Donald was known for his faith and testimonies, quick wit, love of making jokes, and his deep generosity toward his children and grandchildren. He had a passion for puzzles, crosswords, and card games, and could often be found enjoying these activities with his family. Above all, Donald loved his family more than anything, and he leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Donald is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Kathi (nee Edgley), and his children, Brianne (Kenneth) Ross, Donald Andrews and Falonia Andrade, Krystal (Eric) Darling, and Kimberlee (Shane) Stjernholm; and his 19 grandchildren: Heaven, Eden, Hosanna, Justus, and Journey Ross; Rafael, Diego, and Ciara Ferreira; Mason Andrews; Jayden, Jonathan, Liam, Ezra, Redemption, and Ender Darling; and Adam, Hollis, Jason, and Roman Stjernholm.
He is also survived by his siblings, Thelma Carfrae, Minnie Shipp, Roy Andrews, and Gloria Doshier. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Bertha Sears, Arnold Andrews, James Andrews, Richard Andrews, and Cheryl Cruz.
Donald's presence will be deeply missed, but his faith and memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
