Obituary

Dr. Donald Deane Bowen, Ph.D. passed away peacefully on June 13, 2016. He was a retired Professor of Organizational Behavior in the College of Business at the University of Tulsa.

Born in Denver, Colorado on January 18, 1934, he attended Brown University where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He later earned an M.B.A. at UCLA and his doctorate at Yale University. He joined the faculty of TU in 1975 where he mentored undergraduate and graduate students for 24 years and received many honors for his academic publications and university service.

He will be remembered for his love of family, fishing, baseball, soccer, reading, opera and Welsh Corgis.

He is survived by his college-sweetheart wife of 58 years, Polly Bowen, his 4 sons, Michael, Ted, Thom, and Matt, 3 daughters-in-law, Jen, Sandy, and Stacie and 5 grandchildren, Blake, Max, Nick, Rachel and Ben.

A memorial service and celebration of Don's life will take place at 10:00 AM Friday, June 17th, at TU's Sharp Chapel, 2940 E 6th St.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty of Animals or the Departments of Theater or Music at TU.
