Donna Marie (Salyers) Nelson left this earthly life to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, January 22, 2021. Donna, the youngest of four children, was born in Parsons, Kansas, on September 24, 1926, to Lum and Frances Salyers.

In her early years, due to her father's business, Donna's family moved frequently around southern Kansas and northeast Oklahoma, finally settling in Muskogee when she was 10 years old. Donna graduated from Muskogee High School in 1944 and went immediately to work for the Veteran's Administration. Donna worked at the VA until she married the love of her life, Jerry Nelson, and moved to Tulsa. Faith, family, and friends were her focus and all who knew Donna Nelson agree that a kinder and gentler soul never existed.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, her three siblings, and her husband. She is survived by her daughter Catherine Nelson, son Tony Nelson (Suzanne), granddaughters Sarah Donohue (Joel) and Meredith Nelson, grandson Jack Nelson, great-grandchildren Lucienne, Elias, James, and Samuel Donohue, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be at Fitzgerald Ivy Chapel, Friday, 10 am until 5 pm. A Rosary will be held on Friday January 29, 2021, 8 PM, and a funeral Mass at 11 AM on Saturday, January 30, 2021, both at Christ the King Catholic Church. Interment will be in Muskogee at Greenhill Cemetery.
