Dorothy Elizabeth Baine, age 85 died August 30, 2018 in Tulsa, OK. She was born April 16, 1933 in Miami, OK to Thomas William Spensley Bowen and Inez Otillo Riggle who preceded her in death. Dorothy was raised in Miami, OK with her two brothers and two sisters. Dorothy became the bride of Robert James "Tony" Baine of Joplin, MO on January 14, 1950. They met at a dance club in Joplin and were later married at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Joplin.
Dorothy was involved in the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. She was a talented painter of watercolors. Tony and Dorothy shared a love of watching their grandsons play football. After serving others for 15 years, she retired from Saint Francis Hospital at the age of 72. Above all else, Dorothy was dedicated to her faith and family, and always put everyone before herself.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her two brothers, Jimmy Bowen, and Bill Bowen, a sister, Mary Lou Blazer, grandson, Spencer McIllwain, granddaughters, Elizabeth Baker, and Natalie Baine and a son-in-law., Randy Pierce. Dorothy is survived by her children, Cheryl Baine, Michele Firth and husband Glyn, Mary Parker and husband Lonnie, Robin McIllwain and husband Rick, Becky Baker and husband Mike, Matt Baine, and Lisa Owens and husband Rob all of Tulsa and Broken Arrow, OK, Terry Sacco and husband Paul of Edwards, CO, 16 grandchildren, 6 great granddaughters and 3 great grandsons, and a host of nieces and nephews and her sister Kathryn Snead.
Dorothy loved her husband, family, and many cats and dachshunds throughout the years. The family request Memorials may be made to Saint Jude's Children's Hospital and The Wounded Warriors Foundation.
Visitation will be Monday, September 3, 2018 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. both at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Broken Arrow, OK. Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel, 918-291-3500.
