Dorothy Lee (Sloan) Grant, 80, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 9, 2014, surrounded by her family. She was born May 5, 1934, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to George Sr. and Agnes (Hassler) Sloan.
Dorothy graduated from Marquette High School in 1952. She married Bob Grant on January 4, 1958, at Christ the King Catholic Church where she was a lifelong parishioner and member of St. Charles Guild. She was involved with Children's Day Nursery and extremely active in Town and Country Mothers' Club in the early days of the school. Dorothy served as a Tulsa County Precinct Official for many years and enjoyed working from time to time at the family businesses, Whiteside and Grant Realtors and Sloan's Jewelers. Her favorite role was that of "Nana" to her two grandchildren.
Dorothy was devoted to her faith, family and friends. She will be fondly remembered for her loving and nurturing presence in many lives and will be greatly missed.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, George Sloan Sr. and Agnes Sloan; and sister, Patricia Morris. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Bob Grant; daughters, Karen Grant and Beth Parker and husband, Bob Parker; grandchildren, Sarah Parker and Sam Parker; brothers, George Sloan Jr., Charles Sloan and Richard Sloan; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may honor Dorothy's memory with contributions to Town and Country School or Marquette RISE Program.
Viewing will be 12:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M. Sunday, October 12, 2014, at Fitzgerald Ivy Chapel. Rosary will be at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 12, 2014, and Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, October 13, 2014, both at Christ the King Catholic Church in Tulsa. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
