Dorothy Mendez was born on February 6, 1935 went to be with the Lord on December 15, 2014 at the age of 79. She was preceded in death by her son, Charlie. She is survived by her spouse; Socorro Mendez; her six children, Kenneth, Pauline, Sally, Robert, Rosemary and Julie; 18 grandchildren; and, 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by; 2 sisters, Sally Bargas and Anita Carpio; 2 brothers, Johnny and Crosby Casillas; many nieces and nephews. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.

She adored her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. She had a passion for family and a great love of cooking as we all experienced in her wonderful dishes. She was a very giving person and was always considerate of others in their time of need.

She was a very determined and strong willed person who encouraged others to do the same. She impacted many people in many ways. She was a woman of strong faith! She will be dearly missed.

She is now at peace with her Lord Jesus Christ.

Visitation, Thursday, December 18, 2014 from 5:00-7:00 pm. Rosary following visitation at 7:00 pm. Funeral Friday, December 19, 2014 at 10:00 am, all at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
