Obituary

Dorothy MaVontiene Ruskoski (LeCompte) was 88 years old when she 'WAS GATHERED TO HER PEOPLE; OLD AND FULL OF DAYS' into the kingdom of God in the year of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ December 28, 2018 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Dorothy was born in Spiro Oklahoma on May 15th, 1930.  She was adopted by her two loving parents Fran and Frank LeCompte. Dorothy attended School at Sacred Heart Academy in Wichita KS.  She married Albert Stanley Ruskoski Jr. on December 27th, 1949 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Wichita, KS and then soon afterwards moved to Hobbs, NM for about 2 & 1/2 years before moving to Tulsa, OK.  Dorothy and Albert adopted three children.  She was a homemaker for her family.  She was a wife, mother and grandmother to several heroes who have sacrificed to protect and defend our great nation and its freedoms in both the United States Army and Marine Corps.  She was actively involved in the Church of St. Mary, volunteered at St. John Hospital, Cub Scouts, School of St. Mary, and she loved her bridge club.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her loving parents Fran & Frank LeCompte, faithful husband Albert Ruskoski, brothers Robert Lynch and Raymond Jiles and Son-In-Law Stephen Reynolds.  Dorothy is survived by her children, Thomas, Deborah, Daniel, and daughter-in-law Sallie; grandchildren: Rachel, John, Amy, Laura, Melanie, and Curtis;  great grandchildren: Alexandra, Jacob, Connor, Rebecca, Elijah, Savannah, Piper, and Baker; and all the people who's lives she had impacted and inspired by her Catholic Faith of love and charity.

The family of Dorothy wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the clergy, staff, volunteers and parishioners of the Church of St. Mary for all the wonderful fellowship, care and attention they have given her since she joined the parish in 1955.  We would especially like to thank Monsignor Dorney and Deacon Beam for her funeral Mass and Gail for bringing her the Holy Eucharist for several years.

Visitation: 3:00-5:00 p.m. Thursday at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel.  Rosary: 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Church of Saint Mary and Funeral Mass: 1:30 p.m. Friday at Church of Saint Mary.
