Edna L Hammontree was born April 30th 1934 in Albuquerque NM to James and Edna Sweeney. She passed away April 20th 2015 at the age of 80. Raised in Denver CO Edna attended East High School and the University of Denver. In 1963 Edna married Haskell Hammontree and in 1966 moved to Tulsa OK.
Edna devoted her life to her family and Catholic faith. Together Edna and Haskell started their own company and were owners of a successful cattle ranch. Edna spent countless hours volunteering for PTA, Camp Fire Girls and Boy Scouts and was an avid fan of her grandchildrens sporting and school events. Edna loved college football and especially her Fighting Irish of Notre Dame.
Proceeded in death by her parents and husband she is survived by her three children, Annmarie and Larry Brown of Cleveland OK, Sue and Victor Perez of Tulsa OK and Michael Hammontree of Kansas City MO. And five grandchildren, Matthew and Andrea Brown of Little Rock AR, Laura Brown of Cleveland, OK. Phillip Perez, Amanda Perez and Recruit Adam Perez USMC of Tulsa OK.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to Catholic Charities
Visitation 5-7 p.m. and Rosary 7 p.m. Thursday, April 23, both at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel.
Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Friday, April 24, Church of Saint Mary. Interment will follow at Hanna Cemetery in Hanna, OK at 3 p.m.
