Obituary
Eileen Patricia McSherry, 70, of Tulsa, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2013.
She was born October 1, 1943, to the late Francis and Mary Ellen McSherry in Brooklyn, New York. The family moved to Tulsa in 1950. She graduated from Holy Family Cathedral High School in 1960. In 1963 Eileen became a Registered Nurse following her graduation from the St. John's Hospital School of Nursing. She became a Nurse Practitioner through the University of Colorado in 1980.
Eileen worked as a Nurse Practitioner until she retired in 1999. She specialized in geriatric medicine and hospice care and worked tirelessly to improve the quality of care for the elderly and dying through consultation work with nursing homes and direct patient care.
Eileen's family was her highest priority, and she is survived by her two children, Mark and Jason Taylor, and her two grandsons, Jack and Sean, whom she adored. She is also survived by nine beloved siblings.
Friends can honor Eileen's memory with contributions to Catholic Charities.
A vigil will be held November 1st, 6 p.m., at Fitzgerald Ivy Chapel and Funeral Mass on November 2nd, 9 a.m., at Christ the King Catholic Church, 16th and South Quincy, Tulsa.
