Heaven just got a whole lot more entertaining. The irrepressible Elizabeth Anne "Betty" Blue, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2022. Betty was born to Dorothy and Max Bishop on February 21, 1941. She grew up in Tulsa, attending Holy Family Cathedral grade school and Horace Mann junior high, where she claims to have "picked out" the love of her life, George Blue. George and Betty attended Central High School together and married soon after graduation. A graduate of Hillcrest Nursing School and Northeastern State University, Betty was a good neighbor, excellent mother, and incredible nurse, caring for thousands of patients during her 35 years at St. Francis Hospital. She was unfailingly kind, nurturing, and always up for a road trip. Though her battle with dementia presented many challenges, it did not rob her of her sense of humor, her Catholic faith, her fondness for ice cream, or her generous nature.
Predeceased by George Blue, her husband of 53 years, and her daughter, Roxanne Libasci. Betty is survived by her brothers, Tony Bishop and wife Joanne, and Dick Bishop and wife Jean; her daughter, Rachel Blue and son-in-law, Tom Vincent; her son-in-law, Todd Libasci; her grandchildren, Alex Fleetwood and Henderson Vincent; brother-in-law, Gary Hood and wife Vicky; and her nieces and nephew.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church in Tulsa, at 1:00 p.m., on December 27th, 2022, with a celebration of her life to follow.
