Obituary

Elizabeth Ann Harris our beloved Mother, died January 3, 2017, the day after celebrating her 95th birthday at home in Tulsa. She was born to Thomas and Bertha Eastham in Mounds, OK.

She went to Draughans School of Business in Tulsa. She met Homer Howard Harris and they married in 1944. Elizabeth is preceded in death by her husband in 1993, her sisters Clyda Rae, Joanna, and Mae, and niece Sherl Meek.

Elizabeth is survived by: her daughter, Lynley Elizabeth Harris-Elliott and son, Thomas H. Harris (Ann), Little Rock, AR; grandchildren, Blair (Houston, TX), Victor (Little Rock, AR), and Thomas L. Harris (Washington, DC), Britton Hoyt, (Frisco, TX); nephews, Wesley Renigar (Marlene), Teddy Renigar and Terry McFadden; nieces, Carol and Harriett Burnett, and many dear friends and other family.

Elizabeth grew up in a farmhouse in Mounds, OK, and after her daily chores she walked to the one-room schoolhouse each day. She was a scholar and always inquisitive about the world. She was a successful businesswoman. Elizabeth worked every day to provide for her family and was an awesome Mom. She instilled in her children that nothing was impossible if you were willing to work for it. She raised her children in the church of the Nazarene.
Elizabeth loved going to Friday morning bible study with her friends and playing dominoes later that afternoon. Elizabeth kept a very busy schedule thanks to her daughter Lynley. Lynley included her nearly every day on trips about town, running errands and having lunch and shopping. Most importantly Lynley's friends were Elizabeth's friends. All the love, affection, caring and companionship they gave Elizabeth over the years and including her as "one of the girls" brought so much joy to her life. Elizabeth's closest companion the past 12 years was her precious little rescue dog 'Spring'. Spring rarely left her side day or night, and having Spring and growing older together brought Elizabeth great comfort. She will always be remembered as a loving caring spiritual person to everyone.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, Jan. 7th, at Regency Park Nazarene Church, Tulsa, with minister, Geoffrey Gunter officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, Jan 6th, from 5:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel, Tulsa, 918-291-3500.
