Obituary

KATZ, E. Blythe S., 72, a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Blythe was born in Decatur, Alabama, and attended both undergraduate and graduate school at the University of North Carolina, where she earned her master's degree in Environmental Science and met the love of her life, Harold, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with love and devotion. She dedicated her life to her family and to serving her community through the public school system. In her retirement years, Blythe remained actively involved in the Tulsa community. She devoted her time to Tulsa's Jewish community and Temple Israel Sisterhood, where she was honored with the Queen Esther Award in recognition of her contributions to Sisterhood, Temple Israel, and the greater community. She also served as a Tulsa Airport Ambassador, volunteered with the Oklahoma Home and Community Education organization, and enjoyed many happy hours with her mahjong group. Blythe was also a voracious reader and enjoyed making crafts, creating artwork and photography, and took great pleasure in submitting her work to the Tulsa County Fair.

Above all else, Blythe cherished her role as Grandmom and found her greatest joy in her precious granddaughters, Mia and Molly.

Blythe was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold Katz. She is survived by her three sons, Ethan, Matt, and Stephen; her two sisters, Kim and Lolly; her brother, Jay; and her adored granddaughters, Mia and Molly.

A graveside funeral is scheduled at Rose Hill Cemetery on Monday, June 15, 2026, at 10 a.m. To accommodate all who wish to participate, the service will be broadcast on B'nai Emunah's Zoom.
