Elmer Allen (Al) Williams was born May 2, 1922, to Chrles Elmer and Josie Emma Williams. He was born and spent his entire youth on the family farm in San Angelo, Texas. His passion was always to know how everything worked. He spent most of his life building and racing boats, cars and dragsters. He was also an avid pilot. He loved to fly. He learned to fly while serving in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He had careers in the automotive and aerospace industries. While working for Rockwell International, he developed many auto systems and holds many patents. After retiring in 1977, he built several experimental airplanes and spent his time flying and building airplane systems. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Evelyn, and his daughter Shirley Croxdale and son-in-law Duane Croxdale. He leaves two grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren. Al wishes to say goodbye to all his friends at Jones Riverside Airport.
