Elsie Marie Fischer Currie our beloved Mother, Poppy's Mommy, Grandma Peachy, Sugar passed on to her heavenly home on November 7, 2012. She will forever be remembered for her influence on our lives. She lived her life walking the walk with our Lord, she had a deep faith. She was filled with love, compassion, prayer, understanding, trust, forgiveness, wisdom and a love for life, family and friends. Her grandchildren told her she had a direct line to God when she prayed. She was such a big part of our lives and will be greatly missed.
She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on Sept. 8, 1911. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Bob, her son Bob and wife Denise, her parents Adam & Geraldine Fischer, five siblings, daughter-in-law Nancy and granddaughter Cathryn.
She is survived by her son Edward Currie of S.C., daughter Dorothy Tennant and son-in-law Bill, grandchildren Eddie Currie (Linda) & Michael Currie of S.C., Robert Currie (Fidelis) & Bob Currie (Tami) of N.Y., Christine Currie of CO, Bill Tennant (Lynne) of WA, Jim Tennant (Marie) of Kansas, Tom Tennant (Bridget) of MD, Elizabeth Tennant Gathright (Britt) of Tulsa and nineteen great-grandchildren, including Tulsans, Kathleen, Michael & Mary Gathright.
The rosary will be said @ the Church of Saint Mary on Monday Nov 12th @ 7 PM. The Mass of the Resurrection will be @ 11 AM on Tuesday Nov 13th. Burial will take place in New York.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made in her name to the School of Saint Mary Educational Trust Fund @ Church of Saint Mary, 1347 East 49th Street, Tulsa, OK 74105.
