EMILY FRANCIS BRAUNAGEL GLASS
October 6, 1923 - Wichita, Kansas
February 4, 2013 - Santa Barbara, California
On Sunday night, February 3rd, a beautiful, starry, moonlit coastal night, Emily tucked herself in her big warm bed at home and fell asleep, tired, no doubt, from another active day. That night as she slept, God came calling. Without warning or fear, without illness or suffering, surrounded by her mementos, the things important to her, she left happy, peaceful, and full of life. He took her spirit back as she wanted, as she deserved, after over 89 years as the most kind, sweet and gentle soul. She served Him well.
Emily's greatest gift was in how she lived each day – smiling, happy just to be alive.
She wasn't passionate about any one thing. She was content just to be a participant. She felt no need to excel, be the best or the winner – she truly played for the love of the game.
Emily's naturally simple, warm and happy way of living brought her a warm, happy, beautiful life in return. For those of us who knew her would all agree – a kinder, sweeter soul there couldn't be. This is the legacy Emily left for us.
So Adios, "Lem", Mrs. Paul J. Glass, Mom, Em, Granny, Greatgranny, and Emily.
