Obituary

Emily lived her life for those around her she cherished including family, close friends, and beloved household pets. To reflect this, her family has elected to publish fond memories from those she was closest to in lieu of a traditional obituary.
"Emily loved people and had a special love for her family. She loved to talk with people about their lives. In her last days, she wanted to talk about Jesus Christ in her life now and wanted to meditate on scripture. She loved to reminisce fondly about family events in her past" - Chuck Rohleder
"My mom always supported me no matter what the circumstances were. At the end of her life, I will always cherish the time we spent eating takeout together every night. Words can't describe how much I will miss you mom. I know you are in heaven smiling down on us with Grandpa, Grandma, and Uncle Mike" - Nicholaus Rohleder
"Emily loved playing dolls with Linda. Often the setting included a beauty shop, so sometimes hair got cut and dolls became somewhat bareheaded! I have lovely memories baking with Emily, particularly cookies. Sometimes, we disagreed about the best way to proceed with a particular batch. However, we always found a way to resolve it" - Shan Rohleder Glandon
"My sweet Aunt Emily was just 16 when I was born, she was my Dad's baby sister and my brother and I spent a lot of time with her growing up. Aunt Em always had a smile for everyone and a kind heart. And her wonderful laugh, I will definitely miss that! She was beautiful inside and out and despite facing lots of health hurdles she always remembered every birthday and holiday and still found happiness in small things. Her family meant everything to her and we are so blessed to have the love she showered on us. You are forever loved and will always be remembered. I know you are in heaven happy with your Mom, Dad, and Brother smiling down upon us. I love and miss you Aunt Em" - Julie Rohleder Chitwood, Bret Chitwood, Joshua Chitwood, & Caitlyn Chitwood
"Emily was always the fun aunt. I always admired how positive and upbeat she was and how she made me feel every time I talked to her no matter what she was going through" - Marc Rohleder
"My favorite memories of Em were when she would come down to Dallas to support Nick in middle and high school athletics. Em and I would always sit during those games and talk and talk and talk and catch up about was going on in her life and my life. Great conversations" - Andrew Glandon
"I will always remember Emily's smile and face when she smiled, and her way of laughing" - Clyde Glandon
"I really enjoyed seeing and spending time with my Aunt Emily. She was always so genuinely happy to see me and my family! I will miss our long conversations on topics ranging from work, family, life in general, and football of course, updates on Waite and Lucy, and how quickly life goes by. I will always remember her smile. In fact, as I write this, I realize she shares the same smile as Grandpa" - Will Rohleder
"Thoughtful, kind, compassionate. Emily always remembered every occasion and her family meant the world to her; as she did to us. Reunited now with her parents and brother, what a joyous celebration! Here's to you my sweet sissy! Love you lots" - Addie Rohleder Scavone
"I really enjoyed working on the Mayo Building together and the chats we had over lunch" - Charlie Rohleder
"Emily was a genuinely caring person. I remember first getting to know her at family gatherings, and later chatting with her about our kids. I will not miss her amazing ability not only to listen, but check in later to make sure everything was good. The love that she showed me, my husband, and children, will not be forgotten" - Brooke Rohleder
"Whenever our lives would allow, Emily and I would co-celebrate our birthdays. San Francisco, Kansas City, or just out to lunch. We loved being "Leo Ladies". Such great memories" - Joni Young Sexaur
"Emily was a true friend. She was loyal, always listened, and didn't hesitate to correct my thinking when necessary! She loved her Savior, Jesus Christ, and her family to the fullest. RIP, my sweet friend, until we meet on the other side" - Sharon Rosenbaum
"I am so fortunate that Emily's family was a part of my family the majority of our lives. Swee memories of laughter, Spring Creek, and our fathers building our childhood homes. You will be missed with much love" - Sylvia Ewing Hill
"Emily was the most precious friend. We were like sisters from the start! She was tenacious, cared deeply, and loved with her whole heart. We shared countless heart to heart talks into the wee hours, where we laughed, cried, and prayed together" - Brenda Hall
"Emily was always constant! She kept asking questions until she got the answer. She was a good friend and has left a huge void in my life. It is hard to find friends like her. She will be missed" - Dulcie Owens
"My best memories will always be how Emily would get so excited when the heat turned on in the pool, alerting us all. Also how we would always lose track of time in the locker room, because we both had the gift of the gab" - Joy Schaberl
