Eric William Beeghly, age 36 of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed from our world to be with Christ on April 22, 2016. Eric blessed us with a loyal personality, a great sense of humor, a giving heart, and he enriched and brightened the lives of all who knew him. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Eric was born September 5, 1979 at Swedish Hospital in Englewood, Colorado to Teri and Mark Beeghly, but soon thereafter moved to Tulsa, which would become his lifelong home.
Eric attended grade and middle school at The School of Saint Mary and then high school at Bishop Kelley High School, graduating in 1998.
Eric spent a very influential next five years at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK, graduating in 2003 with a Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering. After college, Eric embarked on a successful career in the air-cooled heat exchanger industry, holding management roles with SmithCo Engineering of Tulsa, and Harsco Industrial Air-X-Changers of Broken Arrow, OK.
In 2006 Eric met the love of his life, Lindsey Miller, and on November 10, 2007, they would wed at The Church of St. Mary, in a ceremony officiated by the Rev. Gary Kastl. They remained deeply devoted to and in love with each other until Eric's passing.
Eric was a lifelong member of The Church of St. Mary. Eric was a true servant of God and his happiness was centered in his close relationships with his family and friends. Eric enjoyed Oklahoma State athletics and watching their sporting events was a favorite pastime.
Eric was a voracious reader appreciating all types of literature and had a wonderful thirst for knowledge. In fact, he was an avid watcher of Jeopardy! Eric excelled at competitive sports, especially basketball. Growing up he was a talented basketball player, and later in life he used this gift to coach youth basketball for Monte Cassino School in Tulsa. Eric enjoyed seeing his players grow into young men and he loved having the opportunity to positively impact their lives.
Eric gave all his love to his family and friends for which they will be forever grateful.
He is survived by his wife Lindsey, his mother Teri, his father Mark, and his grandmother Virginia Griffin, all of Tulsa, his grandmother Mary Rae Beeghly of Bartlesville, and his sister and brother-in-law Allison (Beeghly) and Zach Cates, nephew CJ and niece Alex, all of Phoenix, Arizona. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, James H. Griffin and Bert E. Beeghly. Eric's many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends are too numerous to individually name, but all have been uniquely touched by Eric's love.
Rest in peace Eric, our dear brother in Christ.
Services in celebration of Eric's life will be a Vigil held Tuesday April 26th at 6:30 pm and a Funeral Mass held Wednesday April 27th at 11:00 am. Both services will be held at The Church of St. Mary, located at 1347 E. 49th Place Tulsa, OK 74105.
To honor Eric, please come to the Vigil Tuesday evening dressed in orange and black, as Eric would love an Oklahoma State themed celebration.
