Eugene Charles "Gene" Nestle, 77, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Sunday, March 25, 2012 at his beloved home in Tulsa. Born August 6, 1934 to Eugene M. and Marcella (Schulte) Nestle in Saint Louis, Missouri.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Stege Nestle, (Peggy); brothers and sisters-in-law Roger & Winnie Nestle and Gary & Carolyn Nestle; Children Gerard & Shelley Stege, Paul & Laura Stege, Peter & Janie Stege, John & Marie Stege, Teresa and Brian Spavins and David W. Stege; special nieces and nephews Jana (Nestle) & Todd Brookover, Greg & Lorna Nestle, Susie (Nestle) & Don Gehlert and Julie (Nestle) and Barry Barnes; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other nieces and nephews.

Gene attended Holy Family High School, Tulsa, and Oklahoma A & M (OSU) attaining a masters degree in Mechanical Engineering. Following graduation he proudly served in the U.S. Army Infantry and as an active reservist in Special Forces, retiring as a Captain. After military service he returned to Tulsa where he pursued his career. Gene truly appreciated and loved his family. He was an avid gardener and delighted in hosting events for family and friends at his home.

Rosary and visitation will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 29 at Fitzgerald Ivy Chapel. Mass will be 10 a.m., Friday, March 30 at Holy Family Cathedral.
