Obituary

Eugenia Smith Fite Heenan passed away peacefully while sleeping in the early afternoon of
Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at the age of ninety. Eugenia was born in Oklahoma City on May
23, 1923 and attended the University of Arkansas where she was a year book beauty and
became a life-long member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. She married William Patton (Pat) Fite, Jr.
and created a family in Muskogee, Ok. In 1964, Dr. Fite moved his plastic surgery practice and
his family to Tulsa. After her children were grown, Eugenia was married to LF Heenan of
Oklahoma City and upon his death, became the sole owner and president of Heenan's Home
Furnishings, which remains a thriving business today. Upon her retirement and sale of the
business, Eugenia moved back to Tulsa where she picked up her earlier life with friends and
family. She loved playing bridge with her friends of many years, was a member of the Tulsa
Garden Club and a Philcrest docent for a number of years, loved traveling with her friends, and
enjoyed helping with her granddaughters. Eugenia was quite artistic, with well loved paintings
and crocheted coverlets bestowed upon family members. Eugenia is survived by her daughter,
Resa Fite of Tulsa (and her daughter, Heather, and husband Frank Turco of Fort Myers, Florida,
and great grandchildren, Trennen and Taylen): her son, Christopher D Fite, of Broken Arrow;
daughter, Melissa Fite Savoie of Denver, CO (and her daughters, Chezney Kristov of Boulder,
Co. and Trier and husband, Brian Donahue of Tulsa). Eugenia's oldest son, William Patton Fite,
Ill, passed away in December 2010, leaving his wife, Yeying, and Eugenia's three youngest
grandchildren, Jade, Tiama, and Qian Patton Fite, all of the home in Broken Arrow. A memorial
service will be held at Fitzgerald's Funeral Home at 91st and Harvard, Tulsa, on Monday,
January 27th, at 2:00 p.m. Flowers are welcome, or donations may be made in Eugenia
Heenan's name to Tulsa's Up With Trees.
