Eva Lee McAdams (Jochem) went to meet her Lord Saturday, Aug. 9, at the age of 86. Eva was born on Feb. 25, 1928 in Kansas City. Eva met her Sigma Chi sweetheart, Don Wright McAdams, while attending the University of Oklahoma, where she became a loyal member of Pi Beta Phi. She and Don married on Dec. 18, 1948 at Christ the King in Tulsa.
After marrying, Eva became a devoted wife and mother, and eventually grandmother. Her family was her greatest joy. Eva was an active member of the Tulsa community, dedicating her time and talents to PEO, Tuesday Study Club, and Junior League of Tulsa. She was also a faithful volunteer for many worthwhile organizations, including Hospice and Meals on Wheels. A lifelong Sooner fan, Eva and Don spent many years attending football and basketball games in Norman, and in their later years never missed OU football and men's and women's basketball on television.
Eva and Don spent many years living in Claremore, where they attended First Presbyterian Church of Claremore and lived at Claremont Farms before moving to Montereau Retirement Community in Tulsa, where they have treasured many wonderful years and enjoyed attending Kirk of the Hills with their family.
Eva is survived by her husband Don Wright McAdams, of Tulsa; her daughter-in-law; Susan McAdams of Tulsa; and her grandchildren Charles W. Ward IV and wife Anne of Juneau, Alaska, Ryan McAdams of Tulsa; Peter McAdams and wife Tiffany of Tulsa; and Elizabeth Ward Carroll and husband Brian, of Tulsa. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Harper Ann McAdams, Adeline Taylor McAdams, Palmer Lee McAdams, John Hawthorn Carroll and Charlotte Gwen Carroll, all of Tulsa. Eva is preceded in death by her parents Alphonse Nicholas Jochem and Mary Grace Lee Jochem, by her beloved children Gwen Elizabeth McAdams Ward and Don Daniel McAdams, and by her son-in-law Charles W. Ward III. In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting donations be made to the Montereau Benevolent Fund, 6800 S. Granite Ave, Tulsa, OK 74136 or the American Cancer Society,
