Florence Testa Mickella was born in Pittsburg County, Oklahoma on November 27, 1915 to Nora and Frank Testa. She married Joe Mickella on November 28, 1936 and together they owned and operated Mickella's Grocergy and Market in Krebs, Oklahoma. Her husband was also a businessman and rancher, dealing in white-faced cattle and quarter horses. They were married 37 years until his death in 1973.
Mrs. Mickella was predeceased by her parents Nora and Frank Testa, husband Joe Mickella, sister Carrie Domenico, brothers Bosco Testa, Angelo Testa and Dan Testa, special nephew Joseph George "Joey" Testa and son-in-law Lee Roodman.
She is survived by her daughter Joyce Mickella Roodman and numerous nieces, nephew and dear friends.
Mrs. Mickella, who was known fondly as "Auntie", was the matriarch of the Testa family. She valued her Italian heritage and Catholic faith, serving as a Eucharistic Minister to the elderly and homebound at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Krebs.
In her later years, she moved to Tulsa to be near her only child, Joyce Roodman.
The funeral Mass will be held at the Church of the Resurrection on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. Mrs. Mickella will be laid to rest beside her husband in Mount Calvary Cemetery in McAlester, Oklahoma.
