Frances Helaine Wright Lemon was born February 10th 1932, to James Paul Wright and Mildred Irene Montgomery Wright in Bartlesville, OK. Helaine graduated from Bartlesville College High School and followed her older sister Luellyn to Oklahoma A&M in Stillwater. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and graduated with a degree in fashion merchandising. At OSU she met and married Glen Edward Lemon. After Glen's stint in the US Army, the couple moved their home to Booker in the NE corner of the Texas Panhandle where the Lemon family was in the banking business. Helaine was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed traveling with her husband for business and pleasure, and appreciated all types of music. Helaine was active in civic affairs and her church. Soon after the death of her husband in a private plane crash in 1986, she moved to Tulsa and became a patron of the arts and a long-time volunteer at The Laureate Psychiatric Hospital. Later in life, Helaine (a/k/a MommaLaine) cherished time with her family and especially her four grandchildren. She was an ardent supporter of all things Oklahoma State including academics and athletics. She rooted hard for the orange and black. She appreciated being able to reside at the Montereau retirement community for several years with her sister Lu (her devoted friend and caretaker). Helaine was predeceased by her parents, her husband and one grandchild, Jeffrey Wright Lemon. She is survived by her sister Luellyn Wright of Tulsa, two sons Marcus Wright Lemon of Tulsa and his wife Susan, and Martin Edward Lemon of West Chicago, IL; four grandchildren, Laura Lemon, Colton Edwards, Gabriel Lemon, and Victoria Lemon. Funeral arrangements are with Fitzgerald's and a memorial service is set for Saturday in the Coterie Theater at Montereau at 11:00 AM with Pastor Cheryl Peters officiating.
