Francis (Frank) Ernest Braun passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 16, 2026, at the age of 92. Born in Kansas City, Kansas, on September 12, 1933, Frank was the youngest of six children born to Maurine Katherine (Kelly) and Ernest (Ernie) George Braun. Raised on a farm in Edgerton, Kansas, Frank was instilled with a strong work ethic and family values. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1955 from Saint Benedict's College in Atchison, Kansas, before being drafted into the army. Frank was proud to serve his country (Private First Class) from 1955-1957, where he was stationed in Germany. Upon return to the US, Frank began his life-long career in specialty metal sales. His career took him from Kansas City to Oklahoma City, where he met his wife of 62 years, Angela (Angie) Ellen Pace. Frank and Angie had two daughters, Julie and Jennifer, by the time they relocated to Tulsa in 1968 and decided to put down permanent roots. Frank was active his entire life playing basketball and football as a kid, taking up skiing, racquetball, tennis and golf over the years, and was always up for an activity. He coached his girls' softball, soccer, and basketball teams, and was an avid fan of whatever his girls and his grandchildren were involved in. He was a dedicated Catholic, serving both Resurrection and Saint Mary parishes over his time in Tulsa. Among his other charitable endeavors, Frank was especially proud of his pro-literacy work through the Tulsa County Library. His family and friends will remember him as a man who loved to tell stories and lived life on his own terms.
He is survived by his wife Angie, daughters Julie Skrzypczak and Jennifer Wood (Joby), grandchildren Matthew, Elizabeth, and John Skrzypczak and Sarah Wood. He is preceded in death by his parents Maurine and Ernie Braun, brothers Gerry (Kay) Braun and Bernie (Jane) Braun, sisters Peg Braun, Katherine (Bill) O'Connor, Sister Mary Suzanne Braun, and grandson Andrew Wood.
The family extends its thanks to the many caregivers at Inverness who have taken such good care of Frank for many years.
A rosary will be held at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel on February 19 at 6:00 p.m. The funeral Mass will be held on February 20 at 11:00 a.m. at Church of Saint Mary.
