Gabriel Sloan Brierley passed away at his home in Tulsa, Oklahoma on September 24th, 2022. Born May 27th, 1981 in Tulsa, Gabe was the son of Becky Barnard and Jeff Brierley. Gabe attended Rogers High School and Northeastern State University and briefly played football with the Oklahoma Thunder in the early 2000s.

Sports were a true passion for Gabe, and from an early age, he developed a lifelong interest in strength training and bodybuilding. In addition to being a personal trainer, he found great joy in mentoring young children, assisting Special Olympics events, and advocating for animal welfare.

Gabe read voraciously, especially about nutrition, and used his ever-expanding knowledge not just for his own benefit, but to counsel others. Indeed, about nutrition and several other topics, Gabe was able to talk and talk (and talk and talk and...).

It's an understatement to say Gabe was a force. He definitely commanded attention when entering a room. And while he might seem to be an intimidating mountain of a man to a stranger, he truly was a big teddy bear with a huge heart. To be in his presence was exhilarating to say the least. His constant enthusiasm and genial personality were embedded in the very core of his being, and in his company you could practically feel the warmth radiating from his vibrant yet gentle soul.

It was obvious to everyone who met Gabe that he had a very special spot in his heart for all of his family members and close friends. Gabe is survived by his love Katelyn Cashion; mother Rebecca Barnard; father Jeff Brierley (Virginia); brother Nigel Clark (Stacey); nephew Cannon Clark; niece Everleigh Clark; uncles Mike Brierley, Greg Laley, George Ferguson (Debbie), aunts Tere Barnard, Tracy Hardison (Michael), Kelly Athey; cousins Ananda Ritz, Sherry Shay, Erica Laley, Rachel Laley, Brian Wall, Brent Wall (Traci), Stesha Snow; Jack Brierley, Tori Brierley, best friend Scott McDaniel (Michelle); his sweet dog Mosheh; along with many other loving relatives and friends.

A Celebration Of Life will be held on Friday, September 30th at 3pm, at Fitzgerald Funeral Service- Ivy Chapel, 1402 S. Boulder Ave, Tulsa, OK 74119, with reception immediately following at The Vault, 620 S. Cincinnati Ave, Tulsa, OK 74103.

To honor Gabe's memory, donations may be made to The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). For those wishing to send flowers, they may be sent directly to Fitzgerald's Ivy Chapel, 1402 S. Boulder Ave, Tulsa, OK 74119, anytime before 12pm on Friday, September 30th.
