POWELL, Gene Lynn, 63, passed away Friday, May 8, 2009 in Tulsa, OK. He was born July 3, 1945 in Vincennes, IN to Peter Powell and Norma Dreiman Powell who preceded him in death. He graduated from Monroe City High School in Indiana in 1963 where he excelled in basketball. He was a graduate of Eastern New Mexico University in 1967 and he obtained a Masters degree in Psychology from Montana State University. Throughout his life he was an insurance claims adjustor and lived in several western states. He is survived by, wife; Betty Powell, of the home, son; David Powell, Ft. Collins, CO, daughter; Michele Powell, Tulsa, OK, brothers; Jerry Powell, Morristown, IN and Joe Powell, Monroe City, IN, and sisters; Janna Turpin, Tampa, FL and Jayne Ann Hart, Milton, FL. A visitation will be held Monday, May 11, 2009 from 4-7pm at the funeral home. A service will be held 11:00a.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at Redeemer Covenant Church, Tulsa, OK.
