Obituary

George A. Bond, born July 18th, 1928 in Hanover, Kansas, was called home, surrounded by his family, on March 14th at age 83.

"Papa", as he was known by his immediate family, made sure that no one was ever hungry; he
nourished people with unconditional love and kindness. People were drawn to him because of his constant smile, but fell in love with him because of his open and generous heart. He was an icon at Saint John Medical Center for 43 years, where his beaming personality reached beyond the pulmonary lab and touched the hearts of all who entered the hospital.

George was preceded in death by his parents, George R. Bond and Eva M. Turk Bond, and his brothers Bob, Tom, Ed, and Jerry Bond. He is survived by his loving wife Margie, his sisters Betty Martinek and Sandy Reed, and brother Bill Bond, his children Eric, Tim, Melissa, George E., and Denise as well as his grandchildren Courtney, Maddie, Kaylee, Morgan, Bear, Grace, Bailey, Tommy, Zac, Kai, and two great grandchildren, Capri and Beckham. There will never be children and grand children who were more loved.
He will forever be missed for his unmatched comedic timing and sparkling wit.

We will celebrate his life beginning with a viewing on Sunday, March 18th at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel from 11 to 2:30, followed by a Rosary at 4pm and a funeral Mass on Monday, March 19th at 10:30, both of which will be held at The Church of Saint Mary.
