GEBETSBERGER, George M.

George was born May 5, 1927 in Okmulgee, OK to Stephanie (Kohlmaier) and Frank Gebetsberger and died on June 26, 2013 at the age of 86. He graduated from Saint Anthony High School in 1945 and served his country in the US Army during WWII with the Office of Strategic Services. Following the service, George graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1950. He worked for Sun Oil Company for 34 years in various Credit Manager capacities in Tulsa, South Bend, Terre Haute and Waterloo, retiring in 1983. Following retirement, he worked for 17 years with Harley Industries, Inc (Flowserve US, Inc) as their Credit Manager until 2002.

George was a charter member and devoted parishioner of the Church of St. Mary. He was a devout family man and avid gardener who loved to travel and cook. Always thinking of others, he delivered Meals on Wheels for over 11 years.

George is survived by his wife, Ann, and three children – Leisa Gebetsberger of Tulsa and her husband, Brett Brough, Lynn Gebetsberger of Brisbane, Australia, and Dr. Michael Gebetsberger and his wife, Dr. Yen Tran, of Tulsa, and their son Grant; also a brother, Dr. Charles Gebetsberger of Sapulpa and a sister, Martha Vazzo and her husband Joe of Tulsa.

Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels.

Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2013 followed by a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. both at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Church of Saint Mary.
