Obituary

George Marion Park, 81, passed from this life on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 while in residence at Ambassador Manor in Tulsa.  George was born on March 26, 1936 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Dr. Felix R. Park, Sr. and Frances J. (Hudlin) Park.

George was preceded in death by his parents; his devoted wife, Sally Hunt Park of Tulsa; and his sister, Frances Park Hampton, whose husband, John Hampton of Owasso, Oklahoma survives.  George is also survived by his loving daughters, Mary Beth Park of Broken Arrow and Maggie Esche of Tulsa; his sister, Julia Rowan of Columbus, Ohio; his two brothers, Felix R. Park, Jr. and wife, Jeanne of Tulsa, and Dr. Paul F. Park and wife Kay of Birmingham, Alabama; his three grandchildren, Sarah F. (and Tyler) Prude of Bentonville, Arkansas, Sean G. Rutherford of Norman, Oklahoma, and Hannah A. Esche of Tulsa; and by seventeen nieces and nephews.George was a graduate of Betty Rombaugh School, Cascia Hall, Regis College, and the University of Tulsa College of Law.  He began his law practice in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma in 1963 and continued until his stroke in 2000.  George served in the Air Force Reserve where he enjoyed the title of "Limbo Champ".  He spent his later years attending classes at The Center for Individuals with Physical Challenges in Tulsa after his stroke left him paralyzed on his left side. George was an "everyman", loving all arts and sports.  His fishing, hunting, and golf adventures were countless and always eventful.  His friends were many, he knew no strangers, and his sense of humor was legendary.  He will be missed by loved ones, friends, and many wonderful caregivers.  A memorial mass will be held this Saturday, March 10th at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1520 South Rockford in Tulsa at 11:00 a.m. Burial is by Fitzgerald Funeral Service at Calvary Cemetery in Tulsa.
