Geraldine (Gerre) Rose Allswede Spangler passed away peacefully on March 15, 2017. Gerre was born on January 1, 1922 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan to Earl Frederic Allswede and Margaret Hazel Irish Allswede. She graduated high school in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan in 1940. Gerre married Lorimer L. Spangler on June 23, 1941. Gerre and Lorimer lived and raised their family in Barryton, Michigan. They moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma after retirement to be close to their children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years who died on May 12, 2001 and by her brother, Norman William Allswede. She is survived by two sisters, Jean Ann Johnson of Grand Blanc, Michigan and Winifred Hartman of Midland, Michigan; three children, Randall C. Spangler and wife, Alexis, and their sons Matthew Spangler and Todd Spangler and wife, Elizabeth; Jon Frederic Spangler and wife, Sally and their two children, daughter Teresa Baker and husband, Scott and son Kevin Spangler; daughter Lorma L. Spangler Denslow and husband, Gary and their daughters, Lorianne Kearney and husband, James, Heather Sweptson and husband, Gene, and Gretchen Wright and her husband, Chris; and twelve great grandchildren. A celebration of life is scheduled for early summer.
