Gertrude Theresa Borucki, (104) passed away peacefully at home on February 7, 2018. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 24, 1913 to Helen and Stanley Prelaske. She was raised and educated in Chicago. While working and as a member of Five Holy Martyrs' parish choir, she met her husband, Walter J. Borucki. They were married in May, 1938 and were blessed with three children: Dan Borucki (Brenda) of Fort Mills, SC; Cliff Borucki (Carolyn) of Bixby, OK and Marilyn Hyatt of Bixby, OK.
In 1950, the family moved to Tulsa where she and Walt were lifelong charter members of the Church of St. Mary.
Gert was a homemaker all of her life and enjoyed cooking, baking, knitting, crocheting and making a home for her family. She worked for the American Cancer Society in Tulsa from 1973-1986 after which she left to lovingly care for her husband during the last two years of his life. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and derived much joy from all of them throughout her long life.
Gert was a devout Catholic who cherished her faith and walked it every day of her life. Her family is forever grateful for her unconditional love and the example she set for all of us.
