Gilmer Allen (G.A.) Lewis was born December 13,1937 to Alice and Gilmer Lewis of Wichita Falls. G.A. attended the University of Oklahoma where he received a Geology degree and later a Business degree from Midwestern University. At OU, G.A. was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity and was co-captain of the football team during their 47 consecutive game winning streak. He was the owner and manager of Lewis Steel and Wire and later owned and managed a golf course in Texas. He spent the majority of his life in Oklahoma- Lawton, Oklahoma City and Tulsa. He truly impacted many lives, especially his families. He always considered his family his greatest asset and always exhibited a positive and fun loving attitude which never failed him during his long illness. He will always be loved, remembered and missed by those he left behind. He is survived by his wife LaCrecia (Cre), his children Lisa and Bart Holzer, Angela and Kyle West, and Trey and Kim Lewis, and his grandchildren, Nicole and Chase Holzer, Jessica and Corbin West, and Lauren and Greyson Lewis. Brothers Don, Truman and Dennis, and sisters Shirley Elliott and Kay Lewis, and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held in the Rose Chapel at Boston Avenue United Methodist Church on Thursday, October 29th at 10am. A reception will follow the services.
