Obituary

Glen Edward Barnes, 76, went home to be with his lord on May 26th in Tulsa after a valiant battle with Parkinson disease and cancer. Glen was born on June 27, 1933, in Boswick, Nebraska to Glen and Rosie Barnes and grew up in Portis, Kansas. Glen served his country in the Navy CBs during the Korean War. He also had a long and successful career with AT&T as a national account manager. Glen was a past member of the SE Rotary and a current member of the Tulsa Men's Club as well as a member of Asbury Methodist Church (the Mariner's community).
On December 24, 1958, he married Barbara Sellers. They raised 2 daughters, Kristy Barnes McCollum and Susan Barnes. Glen had a passion for sailboats and whenever possible loved cruising the San Diego Bay. He and Barbara had frequent parties by their pool where Glen would regale the crowd with stories of his many shipboard adventures.
The Barnes family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Allen Keller, the wonderful care given by Saint Francis Hospice and Clarehouse for providing incredible support and comfort during a challenging time.
He is survived by his wife Barbara and two daughters Susan Barnes of Dallas Texas, Kristine and her husband David McCollum of Tulsa, as well as his two brothers Gary Barnes of Salt Lake City and Gene Barnes of Oswego New York.
His funeral service will be held at FITZGERALD SOUTHWOOD COLONIAL CHAPEL 3612 E 91st St Tulsa on Saturday May 29th at 11am. A visitation will be held from 5pm to 7pm on Friday May 28th at the same location.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that a contribution be made to either Clarehouse or the Tulsa Humane Society.
