Obituary

Glenn Harold Ullom Jr., age 69, passed into the loving arms of Jesus November 26, 2019 after a long, valiant battle with cancer. Butch was born October 25, 1950 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The family soon moved to Independence, Kansas, where Butch grew up and prospered. He was a man who loved creating beautiful wood furniture and household items and working outdoors. He was known for his keen sense of humor and always made others laugh. Butch had the knack of making every load lighter. He was a dedicated father and grandfather, who constantly reminded his loved ones how special they were and how proud he was of them.  His family was a constant source of pride for him. He gravitated to the beauty of Grand Lake and many fond family memories were created there. He and his wife, Ginger, resided in the very cabin built by Glenn Ullom Sr., continuing a long-held dream of many sunsets on the lake. Butch, who was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Dorothy Ullom; his maternal grandparents Billy and Fanny Ullom; and his paternal grandparents Bill and Charlotte Moore. He leaves behind his wife of 15 years, Ginger Ullom, whom he married June 26, 2004; a son, Chad Ullom and wife Tasha; a daughter, Marci Hodge and husband Spencer; grandchildren Bree Ullom, Brayden Hodge, and Olivia Hodge; step grandsons Calvin and Lucas Heit; a sister Patricia Oplotnik and husband Jim; nephews Jimmy Oplotinik and wife Kim, Greg and wife Darcie, Jeff and wife Debbie, Brent and wife Marissa; niece Angie Sellers and husband Colonel Kevin; six great nephews, five great nieces, and a great great niece; Aunt Sara Moore and family. He also leaves behind his soul brother, Gary Sweeney and wife Karen, and cousins Karen and Rick Kirby. Many longtime friends morn his loss and the family wishes to thank Kenny and Wilda Scott, and Ewing Jackson for their special support during these trying times.

Butch gave his life to the Lord in 2000 and the family is comforted that he lived his life as a faithful servant and is now at peace in heaven.   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the name of Butch Ullom, to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
