Obituary

Glenn Andrew Pray was born December 23, 1925 in Rocky Ford, Colorado to Andrew LeRoy Pray and Bertha Leweke. He departed this life on March 23, 2011, at the age of 85. As a child, Glenn moved with his parents for railroad work. His favorite location was Parsons, KS. He graduated from Holdenville, OK High School in 1945, graduated from East Central State, then Oklahoma State University with a Masters Degree in Trade and Industrial Education. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp during WWII. He married Nita Ball and moved to Tulsa to teach at Central HS and raise his family. While at Central HS he started the Tulsa Timing Association. In 1960 he purchased the Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg Co. and moved it from Auburn, IN to Broken Arrow, OK. He designed the 8/10 Cord Automobile and designed and manufactured Auburn Speedsters and Phaetons. Throughout his life he was involved in many antique and classic car associations including the ACD Club, and the Horseless Carriage Club. He most enjoyed flying his open cockpit airplanes.
Glenn enjoyed spending time with his wife, Kathryn Heath and his three children, Ryan Pray and wife Sandra, Doug Pray and wife Jill, Gayle Pray Fritts and husband Bill, all of Tulsa, his grandchildren Adam Pray (Liz) of Egypt, Auburn Pray Hutson (Brett) of New York, Taylor Fritts, Ilze Fritts, Emily Fritts, Robert Fritts (Karen), Nathan Pray, Christopher Walters, all of Tulsa; and ten great grandchildren.
We will celebrate his life at 11:00am, Monday, March 28, at Christ United Methodist Church, Tulsa. Graveside Service will be at 9:30am at Park Grove Cemetery, Broken Arrow with a VFW Honor Guard. Visitation 4:00-6:00pm, Sunday March 27 at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel.
