Obituary

Gordon Dwight Smith age 53 passed away in Tulsa on May 7 after a courageous battle with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. Gordon was born in Little Rock, Arkansas to Lu and Dwight Smith on July 6, 1961. He was a graduate of Hall High School and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with a BBA and spent his career in Automotive Finance and Sales.

Gordon loved life! He loved traveling, was a voracious reader and a lover of laughter and his special passion....music.
He was an avid concert goer and went coast to coast to watch his favorite bands whenever possible. He watched Seinfeld reruns for hours just so he could end his day with a laugh or two.

He is predeceased by his father Marvin Dwight Smith and is survived by his partner Shirley Courtney, and her children Tanner Courtney of Tulsa, Casey Courtney of Brooklyn, NY, his mother Lula Ann (Lu) Smith and his brother Garner Brian Smith of Little Rock. Uncle Marvin Bob Burford and aunt Brenda Burford of Fordyce, Arkansas and numerous cousins and friends.

At his request there will be no memorial service and a private ceremony celebrating his life will be announced at a later date. The family asked that in lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) 500 N. Broadway Suite 250, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73102 or the charity of your choice.

It's a Victory for the heart every time the music starts. - Neil Young

He will be sorely missed!
