Obituary

Grace A. Clifton, 99, of Tulsa, went to be with her Lord on Friday, September 1, 2017. Graveside services were held on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Rose Hill Cemetery, in Tulsa, OK.
Grace was born in St. John, North Dakota on November 10, 1917, the daughter of John and Bessie Carey. She grew up in North Dakota, and following her graduation from nursing school, she joined and served in the Army Air Corps.
Following her time in the service, she was a registered nurse at Brackenridge Hospital, Austin, Texas. After moving to Tulsa, she worked at St. Francis Hospital, and then St. John Medical Center as Director of Nursing, until her retirement. Her legacy of caring for others will forever be in the hearts of those whose lives she touched. She was a member of the St. John Medical Center Auxiliary, serving as a recovery room volunteer. This enabled her to continue to care for others at the hospital, something she truly loved to do. She also volunteered with the American Red Cross, was a member of the Tulsa Garden Club, and the Toute Le Monde Bridge Club. She had been a parishioner of St. Pius X Catholic Church.
Grace is survived by her daughter, Gayle Browning, of Tulsa, daughter-in-law, Edna "Eddy" Clifton, and grandson, Brady Clifton, both of St. Petersburg, Florida, nephews, Lee McCarty, and his wife, Lacy, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jim Dunlop, and his wife, Helen, of Montrose, Colorado, David Dunlop, and his wife, Ellen, of North Dakota, Gary Dunlop, and his wife, Colleen, of Montana, nieces, Jan, of Edmond, Oklahoma, Mazie Curry, of Norman, and numerous great nieces, great nephews, former co-workers, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Glenn Clifton, and son, Glenn Clifton, Jr.
Grace had a love for animals, especially her beloved Standard Poodle, Louie, so the family asks that memorial donations be made to the ASPCA, Biscuit Acres Bark Park, or Animal Aid of Tulsa in her memory.
