Grace Rayedelle (Hughes) Hill, loving mother and grandmother, passed away Friday, February 16, 2018 in Tulsa Oklahoma. She was born January 23, 1937 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Arlie Lee Hughes and Helen Irene (Hulsizer) Hughes. She married Charles Dixon Hill on November 20, 1959 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Grace was a homemaker and raised five of her own children. Grace gave unselfishly of her time and love to care daily for her young grandchildren. Grace considered her children and grandchildren her greatest joy and the most important accomplishment in her life.
Grace enjoyed bringing her family together for dinners, birthdays or just to watch football games. She truly enjoyed Christmas preparations, gift giving and the family sing-a-longs. She always looked forward to participating with cheerleading and other sports activities of her sons and daughters. She even acted as catcher for her grade school aged son while he was learning to pitch baseball. She was proud of her grandchildren and attended their beauty pageants and sports events. She enjoyed being a good mother and grandmother. She would often sacrifice her own needs to meet those of whom she loved.
Grace was a graduate of Will Rogers High School class of 1955, of which she was very proud. She was crowned as the 1954 Order of DeMolay Sweetheart and reigned at that year's Delta Chapter social activities. She participated in student government and enjoyed being active in her school. Grace also worked with the United Cerebral Palsy group to establish an office in Tulsa to assist those in need. She has been an active volunteer for political campaigns.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and granddaughter Alexandra Rose Oakes.
Grace is survived by her children Curtis Dee Hill and his wife Mona of Tulsa, OK; Becky Ann Jenks of Glenpool, OK; Brenda Kay Wilson and her husband Russell of Arlington, Texas; Elizabeth Rae Oakes and her husband Mike of Jenks, OK; Charles Dixon Hill Jr. of Tulsa, OK; her sister Patricia Fleming of Fort Worth, Texas and brother George Hughes of Jennings, OK; Five grandchildren Melissa Jenks of Glenpool, OK; Kaitlyn Nicole Wilson, Michael Russell Wilson of Arlington, Texas; Tyler Michael Oakes and Rachel Elizabeth Oakes of Jenks, OK.
