Obituary

Harold P. Schultz, Sr. died peacefully at home on December 1, 2017 at the age of 83. Harold was born on March 26, 1934 in Chicago, IL. He graduated from St. Mel's High school and Marquette University where he majored in Mechanical Engineering and was a member of the Triangle Engineering fraternity. There he met and soon married Mary Ruth Beland. They moved to Tulsa, OK in 1965 for Harold to begin work at Telex where he quickly became Chief Engineer and later Vice President at Telex in Minneapolis, MN.  Together he and Mary Ruth shared 61 years of marriage, five children, 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. And together they helped begin a new church in Tulsa, the Church of the Resurrection, where Harold served as Eucharistic Minister, Parish Council Member and active parishioner for nearly 50 years.

Harold loved nothing more than being at the helm of his Flying Scot, being up to his elbows in a Julia Child recipe or knee deep in his beautiful garden.  In his later years, he enjoyed working as a crossing guard at Darnaby Elementary. He loved big band music, Danish food and dinner table discussions, to which he invited frequent guests.  He was known for his hospitality, eye for design, and passion for social justice.  He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

Harold is preceded in death by his mother Florence Buhl and his son, John Louis Schultz. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ruth, their children Harold Patrick Schultz, Jr. (Karen), Linda Nicholson (Mark), Sue Marolf (John) and Catherine Cresson (John), grandchildren, Mary Nicholson Hughes (Ryan), Jennifer Nicholson, Kristen Nicholson, Tony Marolf, Samantha Marolf Basden (Zach),  Luke Marolf (Nicole), John Cresson, Jr. , Caroline Cresson, Joseph Cresson, Jacob Cresson, and great-grandson Jude Basden.A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM December 7, 2017 at the Church of the Resurrection and will be followed by a church luncheon.
