Obituary

Harold Lee Zulpo, loving dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa, entered peacefully into God's Kingdom on February 17, 2017 at his home in Tulsa, Oklahoma with his family by his side. Harold was born January 27, 1931, in Tontitown, Arkansas to Ernesto Thomas and Louise Inez (Bernetti) Zulpo, Italian immigrants who settled in Tontitown. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of seventeen with his parent's permission. He served as a Gunner's Mate during the Inchon Invasion in the Korean War, on the USS McKean DD-784, and was awarded three silver battle stars.  He attended Church That Matters in Sand Springs, Oklahoma.

Harold was a Master Tile Setter for Industrial Tile and C & C Tile and Carpet. He operated his own business, Italia Tile Company, for eighteen years. He then worked and retired from the State of Oklahoma, as a Youth Counselor at Lloyd E. Rader Group, in Sand Springs. He was known for being dedicated to his profession and was a relentless worker.

His pastimes included gardening, utilizing his fresh well water, and growing countless varieties of tomatoes by the bushel. He cherished sharing his bountiful crop with family, friends and neighbors alike. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing; driving the ambulance for the Tulsa Raceway for 15 years; travelling to watch his son race go-karts and wrestle; and watching his daughter cheerlead and attending her dance recitals. You could find him in the stands watching his grandson's wrestling matches and baseball games. He was always the first spectator in the stadium and truly their #1 fan!  He also enjoyed countless years of family vacations while travelling throughout Mexico and the Caribbean.

Harold is survived by: his sister, Bernadine Bean (Don) and nephew Brian; his daughter, Gina Zulpo Robertson, and sons, Kodee, Kaleb (Ashley) and Kylar; his son, Randy Zulpo (Angela) and sons, Justin (Dawn) and Joshua; and his great-grandchildren, Dominic, Kayleigh, Madison, Dylan and Baylee. His ex-wife, Donna Dees, always remained in his life and was a special care giver to him.  He was forever grateful to his veteran friend, Kenneth Loney, for his tireless endeavor guiding him through the rigorous VA procedures.

He was preceded in death by: his brother, Billy; parents; and son-in-law, Mark Robertson.

The family wishes to express their indebtedness to Karie, Kendal, Lindsey, Jessica, Liz, Helen, and Anna with Hospice of Green Country, for their compassionate and loving care.
