Obituary

Harry Brian Joseph Hannigan was born in 1938 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the fourth child of Edward John Hannigan and Mary Ellen McCrudden Hannigan. While carving out a legendary basketball reputation on the playgrounds of West Philly, he attended St. Thomas More High School, then graduated from St Joseph's College, with a brief stint in the Army as Honor Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

He married Kathleen Nolan Hannigan in 1963 and moved her and their children Harry, Maribeth, and Kathleen to Tulsa in 1971 to continue working at Cities Service (later Occidental Petroleum). He coached his children's basketball teams and instilled in them a lifelong respect for sports, teamwork, and activity.

He retired at 57 in 1995 and traveled with Kathleen to some of the world's most beautiful cities during his long retirement. He never mastered golf, but enjoyed failing at it. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife Kathleen, son Harry Hannigan, daughters Beth Tompkins and her family (Kelly Tompkins and children, Meredith and Christopher Tompkins) and Kate Hannigan and her family (Norm Issa and children, Olivia, Nolan, and Gabriel Issa).
