Henrietta Geraldine "Gerry" Pinion was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on January 15, 1925, to James and Annie Corr. She died Thursday, November 6, 2014. Gerry met her husband, Gene Pinion, in Belfast at the Lockheed Corporation where they were both employed during World War II. In 1944, she left her Irish homeland in a 16 warship convoy to reside and to raise her family in Tulsa.
Gerry was the founder and owner of the premiere estate sales company, Pinion Estate Sales. She was active for many years with The Tulsa Boys Home before becoming a sustaining member. She was also a founding member of the original Tulsa Irish American Club. Gerry was known for her sharp wit, generous compliments, and a fun loving personality. She enjoyed a very full and interesting life including modeling, and occasional radio and television advertising.
Gerry is survived by her five children, daughter Bernadette Smith, son Michael Pinion and his wife Carol, daughter Nancy Beaver and her husband Steve King, son Seamus Pinion, and daughter Gerriann Pinion; two grandsons, Dr. Sean Smith and his wife Lisa Coffee-Smith, and Phillip Pinion; three great grandsons, Conner Henley, Brendan Smith, and Spencer Smith; her sisters Maureen Egan, Imelda Connelly, Mairead and her husband Bernard Brannigan; and numerous other family members. Gerry was preceded in death by her beloved husband Gene, her only granddaughter Tara Smith, and by six of her siblings. A rosary will be said at 6 PM Monday, November 10, and a funeral mass will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, November 11, both will be held at Church of Saint Mary.
