Henry Alan Busby was born on July 2, 2025 to parents Lauren and Nicholas Busby. Henry was born via c-section at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Henry passed away peacefully in Lauren and Nick's arms minutes after delivery.
Henry lived a short, but perfect life. He has known nothing but love from family, friends, and healthcare providers. He was small, but mighty- weighing only 3lb, 10 oz, he lived longer than anyone expected, beating the odds given his heart, lung, and kidney conditions. After delivery, Henry blessed his parents with his little movements and by opening his dark brown eyes.
Throughout the 38 weeks of pregnancy, Henry was an active baby, showing off with little squirms and kicks. Sometimes he would play tricks on his parents by rapidly kicking his feet, but freezing anytime dad would try to feel mom's belly. He traveled throughout Tulsa with his teddy bear (hand knitted by his father and who he is laid to rest with), experiencing every "first" with his parents. Henry went to the zoo, aquarium, the Gathering Place, and the Philbrook. He also took pictures with his teddy bear having a picnic, flying a kite, and trying lots of new foods like shaved ice and cheesecake!
Henry touched everyone who knew him. During his brief, but significant time on earth, he helped spread awareness on infant loss, the importance of access to maternal medicine, and fetal palliative care (healthcare for fetuses and infants with terminal illness).
Henry will never be forgotten and always cherished. Although we only held him in our arms for a moment, he will always be held in our hearts.
