Obituary
Ingeborg Johanna Marx "Inge" Kahn, born October 22, 1926 in Bad Kreuznach, Germany, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2017 at the age of 90.
Inge, her sister Ellen, and parents Ludwig and Lissi Marx, emigrated to the United States March 1939. Living in New York, Inge earned a degree in International Trade from NYU. She went on to teach English as a Second Language, becoming principal of a night school. Inge married Arno Kahn and shared 56 years of marriage together. When the family moved to Tulsa in 1968, Inge continued teaching, while raising her family. As a member and past president of the Tulsa National Council of Jewish Women, Inge contributed many hours to community work. Inge also enjoyed attending and supporting Tulsa Opera with her husband. One of her loves was writing, and she cherished her writing classes, instructors and classmates at TJC.
Inge is survived by: her daughters, Leslie and husband Martin Stein, Wendy and husband Scott May; grandchildren, Reuben, JJ, Nicole, and Jake; and sister Ellen and husband Martin Sperber. She is preceded in death by husband Arno Kahn.
Donations may be made to Zarrow Pointe, Jewish Federation of Tulsa Holocaust Education, or Sherwin Miller Holocaust Museum.
Graveside service will be held Friday, April 14th, 2 PM, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulsa.
