JACK KESSLER passed from this life unexpectedly, December 10th, 2016.
He was born in New York City on February 20, 1955, the third child of Walter and Joan Kessler. Jack graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1973 and took various courses through Tulsa Community College. Jack was a Certified Petroleum Landman for more than 30 years and semi-retired from Oil and Gas in 2012. Jack started in 1982 as an independent field landman by supervising a large crew in Ardmore, Oklahoma acquiring large blocks of acreage. He became a partner in RA Bodenhamer & Associates, Inc. in 1990 for a few years, then went on to work for multiple small independent oil and gas companies managing their land departments and monitoring their gas marketing. In 2001, Jack began consulting for Meagher Energy Advisors which included research and preparation of data for divesture packages and due diligence on behalf of buyers before taking a sabbatical in 2012. Jack was well respected and admired in the oil and gas industry.
Jack was always a very hard worker in everything he did. With vo-tech training from high school, he began his career in Heat and Air, and then went on to eventually manage a print shop. As a teen he held side jobs working for Bell's Amusement park, ushering at the convention center and working as a valet for numerous events at Southern Hills.
In most areas, Jack was self-educated. When he began in the oil and gas field, Jack spent many hours in the law library studying the materials held within. He became so proficient in oil and gas law that he was frequently mistaken for an attorney.
Some of the best attributes to describe Jack are: loyal, dedicated, always willing to help, intelligent, meticulous, independent and an extraordinary friend. Jack was always ready to lend a hand or solve a problem when anyone needed him.
Jack is survived by his sister, Genie Kessler; brother, Alan Kessler; cousin, Michael Rosenstein, and wife, Lynne, nephew, Daniel, and great niece, Denise; cousin, Stan Kessler, and wife, Cathey; as well as his unofficial Bodenhamer family which includes Debbie Bodenhamer, Casey Stiles, Blythe Meeker and Abby Bodenhamer who have always lovingly called him their "Uncle Jack".Jack is preceded in death by his mother and father, along with his childhood friend, Randy Bodenhamer. Jack leaves behind numerous friends and colleagues and will most sorely be missed.
