Jack Graham Putman, age 75, died on December 29, 2023, in Claremore, OK.
Jack was born on March 2, 1948 in Durant, OK, to parents Jack Norris Putman and Dora Maud Graham. He graduated from Will Rogers High School in the class of 1966, then furthered his education by obtaining a BA in Sociology from Northeastern State University and Masters in Criminal Justice from Oklahoma City University. He served in the United States Army from 1971 to 1973. In 1973, he joined the Tulsa Police Department where he served the people of Tulsa for over 20 years as a homicide detective and the youngest lieutenant at that time. He served at the Tulsa County Sheriff's Department for 5 years and also ran his own business, Putman & Associates. On October 6, 1972 he married Mary Ann Rossbach, and they raised their family in Tulsa, OK. Jack enjoyed fishing, watching football, and bragging about his kids and grandkids. His family and friends will always remember him as a tough Oklahoman ready to fight for what he thought was right, but with a soft heart for his family.
He is survived by his sister Gail Priddy, his wife Mary Ann Putman, and his children Lory Stewart, Alethea Sabo, Maggie Kelly, Elizabeth Roin, James Putman, and John Putman, and his grandchildren Jack Kelly, Katie Kelly, Tommy Kelly, Josh Stoychev, Trevor Stewart, Tristan Stewart, Miriam Roin, and Daniel Roin.
A graveside service is scheduled for 11 AM on January 8th, at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery. Reception at 12:30 PM at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel. No flowers please, memorial donations can be sent to the National Veterans Foundation
