Jackilyn Dee Green, age 87, died on November 2nd, 2022, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Jackie was born on June 30th, 1935 in Rush Springs, Grady County, Oklahoma, to parents Elved Earnest "Jack" Luttrell and Edith Hattie Stewart Luttrell. As a child, she loved being outside, but could frequently be found in the corn silo or the hay loft with the barn cats and a good book. She was a voracious reader who graduated from childhood tales to mystery and romance novels.
She graduated from Wayne High School in the class of 1950, then furthered her education at Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
She met the love of her life, Donald Ray Green, while he was working in the oil fields. The two were married on February 6th, 1953, in Payne, Oklahoma. They remained happily married for 69 years until his passing on April 18th, 2022. The devoted couple are now re-united, and we can all hear Don saying, "Jackie, what took you so long?"
She was a patient and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. Jackie took much enjoyment from cooking for large holiday gatherings at their Broken Arrow, Oklahoma home. She was an animal lover - pampering all their pets throughout life. The clothes that she and her children wore were made by Jackie for years, and many of those pieces are still enjoyed today. Jackie loved her co-workers and the duties that she carried out as a Commercial Loan Officer in various Tulsa banks.
She is survived by her daughters Donelle (Jeff) Fields and Stacey (Doug) Morrison, her grandchildren Ian, Megan (Brandon), Parker (Kate), Kirk (Jade), Reid, Jack, and her 4 great-grandchildren, Kyler, Asher, Wyatt, and Michael. She's also survived by her loving sister Marquetta Lansford.
She is preceded in death by her son, Stewart Kirk Green, who passed away from leukemia at the age of 8. She is greeted in the afterlife by her adoring husband and her son, whom she missed immensely. Also preceded by her parents Jack and Edith, and her brother Elved.
A funeral is scheduled for 10am on November 5th at Fitzgerald's Southwood Chapel, Tulsa with a graveside service at Rest Haven Cemetery in Oklahoma City at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation or the Parkinson Foundation of Oklahoma.
