James Cecil Bray, age 87, passed from this life after a brief illness on August 8, 2022, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on April, 3, 1935 in Wilson, Oklahoma to James "Jake" Bray, Sr. and Bessie Walton Bray. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Norma, and his brother, Robert D. "Bob" Bray.
James grew up in Oklahoma where he graduated with honors from Fox High School. He attended the University of Oklahoma before joining the Army. He served in Army intelligence in Korea and in Washington, D.C. until his discharge. He returned to Ardmore where he met and married Norma, the love of his life for 52 years. He was employed with Oklahoma Natural Gas in Ardmore. He eventually transferred to the Tulsa office of ONG where he was employed until he retired.
James was an avid reader. He loved his books, movies, and travel. He had a passion for art and was a talented private artist. He enjoyed his friends and family. He always had time for a visit and trying new restaurants.
He is survived by his brother-n-law and sister-n-law, Doyle and Sylvia Randolph, many nieces and nephews.
His funeral service is Friday, August 12, 2022, at 1:00 p.m., at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel. Donations in lieu of flowers to St. Francis Hospice Program.
